Woman Finds Carrie’s Wedding Dress from 'Sex and the City' at Thrift Shop for $19. She’s Selling It to Pay for Her Divorce

A woman might have stumbled on the thrift find of the century.

Ashley Cano, a Poshmark fashion reseller, was perusing her local thrift store when she came across a stunning wedding dress — a huge gown with a strapless bodice and a voluminous ruffled skirt. The Goodwill tag asked just under $19 for the dress.

As it turns out, the dress is a Vera Wang — and it's one of Carrie Bradshaw's iconic Sex and the City wedding dresses.

"Vera freaking Wang," Cano marveled in a TikTok showcasing the dress. "I cannot believe that I found this dress at Goodwill for $18.99!"

She added that she "couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this dress."

Bradshaw, the star of the series played by Sarah Jessica Parker, wore the massive gown for a Vogue photo shoot, pinned to a story about her being a bride over 40 during the franchise's first movie. Though she didn't wear the Vera Wang number for her actual wedding day — the honor instead went to her famous Vivienne Westwood dress — she went full bridal in the photo shoot and paired the gown with long satin gloves and a simple veil.

The dress, officially called the Eleanor Bridal Gown, is worth roughly $7,500, according to Nearly Newlywed, which sells the dress used for $3,000.

Cano realized she "may have bit off more than I can chew," she wrote in the TikTok's caption. The logistics of selling such a large dress may be difficult. But as her video swiftly gained popularity, many women — brides and single girls alike — flocked to the comments in attempts to buy the SATC dress.

Also in the comments, Cano revealed what she's planning on using the resale funds for — financing her ongoing divorce.

"Low key been stressing over my lawyer bills for my divorce," Cano shared in response to a user's comment praising her thirft find. "I needed a blessing. Didn't think it would come in the way of a wedding dress but I'm not complaining."
